- Microsoft SharePoint and the Future of ECM
Most conversations about enterprise information or records management seem to involve SharePoint in one way or another. Many organizations are finding that information management is not meeting their expectations and some are wondering if SharePoint 2010 is the answer to all of their problems. In this presentation, Greg Clark will discuss the history of Microsoft SharePoint, the business problems it sets out to solve and its positioning relative to traditional ECM tools.
Greg Clark is a founding Principal of C3 Associates Inc. a vendor-independent consulting firm based in Calgary focused exclusively on the strategic design and implementation of Enterprise Information Management systems. Greg is a regular speaker on Information Management topics, speaking to business groups, ECM industry associations and conferences throughout North America and around the world. He is also an expert blogger on the AIIM Enterprise Records Management community. Greg holds an MBA with specialization in Knowledge Management from Royal Roads University and teaches at the University of Calgary Faculty of Continuing Education.
- GARP Maturity Model: From Theory to Practice
GARP is the Generally Accepted Recordkeeping Principles, which describe levels of program development that can be used by any organization to judge their records management program. This presentation is designed to show the participant how to use the GARP Principles and Maturity Model to develop a RIM Governance function.
It has three specific objectives as follows:
- Document how to use the GARP® principles and the ARMA International Maturity Model for Information Governance to measure their current RIM status
- Describe the role of the maturity model in developing a strategic information management (SIM) plan
- Summarize how to use a SIM process guide to help develop a SIM roadmap
